  • University of Washington
  • University of Colorado-Boulder
  • Metropolitan State College of Denver (now Metropolitan State University)
  • North Seattle Community College
  • Edmonds Community College/Creative Retirement Institute

Copywriting & Editorial Work

Picture
I spent twenty years focused on copywriting and editorial writing for a variety of clients and industries, ranging from outdoor recreation to the coffee industry, real estate to fashion. I counted Starbucks, Eddie Bauer, Cascade Designs (MSR, Therm-a-Rest, Platypus), Brooks Running, Zillow and others among my clients.

On the editorial side, my publications included numerous stories for print and web, ghostwritten articles, newsletters and blogs. The most fun writing assignments were the adventure travel stories I wrote for mountain bike magazines.

Here are a few projects I particularly enjoyed, including the first book I wrote, a
centennial history of a Seattle trade union:

  • Local 7 Seattle-Tacoma: Celebrating 100 Years: 1912-2012 Seattle Publishing (Book)
  • “Gnarly Branches” Willows Lodge Magazine Vol 2.
  • "Packrafting in the Land of the Midnight Sun" SealLine
  • “Building a School of Shred: Sweetlines” Freehub, Vol 3.2
  • “Big Air Therapy” Mountain Bike
